The RHEMA Christmas Lights Display was introduced in 1982 with approximately 60,000 lights. This year, more than 1.8 million lights will illuminate the RHEMA campus from Thanksgiving Eve (Wednesday, November 25) through New Year’s Day from 5:30 to 11:30 p.m. This year’s display is expected to draw more than 200,000 visitors from all over Oklahoma and surrounding states. As always, admission is free.
A centerpiece of the display each year is the RHEMA Park bridge. More than 72,000 lights will shine on the bridge alone, 20,000 more than last year. These lights will again be synchronized to Christmas music—both songs from past years and three new tunes.
There are several ways to view the display. You can drive around the RHEMA campus in your car, walk around campus and through the park, or take a carriage ride. Horse-drawn carriage rides will be available (weather permitting) on the following dates:
- November 25–28
- December 4–5, 11–12, 18–26
Carriage rides are $10 for each adult and $5 for each child. Or you can get a Family Pack, which includes up to two adults and an unlimited number of children, for $25. On Wednesday, November 25, carriage rides will start at 8:00 p.m., after RHEMA Bible Church’s Wednesday evening service.
RHEMA’s Christmas Lights Display is designed to provide a safe, peaceful, and fun atmosphere in which people can enjoy the Christmas season, and to point visitors to the love of Christ and the real meaning of Christmas.
Each year at the Christmas Lights Display, RHEMA accepts donations for Broken Arrow Neighbors, an interfaith organization providing basic needs emergency assistance to more than 4,000 financially disadvantaged people in the Broken Arrow and Coweta areas. One hundred percent of all donations go to the organization.
Concession food and pictures with Santa will be sold by AXIS® Youth, the youth ministry of RHEMA Bible Church. On those cold nights, a cup of hot chocolate, coffee, or apple cider will warm you up as you walk through the display. Popcorn, funnel cake, and other foods will also be available. On Wednesday, November 25, pictures with Santa and concessions will be available until 7:00 p.m. Pictures with Santa and concessions will resume after RHEMA Bible Church’s Wednesday evening service (approximately 8:00 p.m.) and last until 9:00 p.m. After that, concessions and pictures with Santa will be available every Friday and Saturday from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. through December 19.
