Service Experience

Where are you located? We are located on Kenosha (71st St.) just east of Aspen (S. 145th East Ave.) in Broken Arrow. To see a map or to get directions, click here.

How should I dress? At RHEMA, you come as you are. You will see members in suits and dresses as well as jeans and T-shirts. Wednesday night is Hour of Power (in by 7:00, out by 8:00) and is casual dress even for the pastoral staff.

Who attends? It would be easier to say who doesn’t. We have young and old, single and married, those with and without children, and various races. The majority of our members are families with children and teenagers, but there is also a large group of young marrieds and singles of all ages.

What is the music like? We have contemporary praise and worship that lasts from 20–30 minutes.

What do I do with my baby? You can have your baby in service with you or take advantage of our nursery system, which is clearly marked in the North and East hallways of the church. If your baby needs you during the service, we will page you on the pager that is provided to you when you drop your little one off that morning.

Where do my children go? We have a vibrant children’s auditorium for your Kindergarten through 5th grade children to enjoy. Before service starts, they can pass the time playing video games and then enjoy interactive, high-energy sermons teaching them the basics of God’s Word.

What is in store for my teenagers? We have School of the Bible classes set up Sunday mornings before the main service where your teens are taught about issues they deal with on a daily basis. On Sunday and Wednesday nights, AXIS (our church’s youth group) has its own services with loud, high-energy praise and worship, complete with videos, games, and opportunities to get involved. There is also a café, a computer area, video games, and pool tables to enjoy before and after service.

Who will be working with my children? Not only do we have policies and procedures in place, but also we do a background check on everyone who works with children and youth. Our volunteers are trained and love working with children and youth to help them grow in their walk with God.

Where do I park? First-time guests have special reserved parking, which is clearly marked by a banner as you pull onto the RHEMA campus from Kenosha (71st Street).

Where do I go? All School of the Bible classes begin at 9:00 a.m. and are located in SDC 2 or the church building. The Sunday morning service starts at 10:00 a.m. in the RHEMA Bible Church Auditorium. Ushers and greeters are at nearly every entrance to direct you to where you need to go.

Is it a student church? We are not a student church, although the majority of students attending RHEMA Bible Training Center do attend RHEMA Bible Church. The students add to the diversity of the church as they come from across the United States and around the world.

How can I get connected in small groups? Easily. We have L.I.N.K. Teams that meet regularly for people who share common interests. Currently we have more than 25 different L.I.N.K. Teams, ranging from motorcycle riding to knitting, from hunting to scrap booking, from racquetball to photography. And if we don’t have a L.I.N.K. Team you’re interested in, you can start one!

How often do you hold Communion? We celebrate Communion the first Sunday morning of every month.

Do you do water baptisms and baby dedications? Yes. We do each of these a few times a year as the need arises. Announcements are made for each in the church bulletin.

Where is the church’s lost and found located? Lost and found is located in the North Lobby Information Booth.

Are your services interpreted into Spanish? Yes, we have Spanish interpreters available at every service. Come to the Sound Booth in the back of the sanctuary at least 15 minutes prior to any service to check out a wireless hearing device.

Si, tenemos intérpretes de español disponibles en todos los servicios. Venga a la cabina de sonido en la parte de atrás del santuario al menos 15 minutos antes de cualquier servicio para recoger un aparato de sonido inalámbrico.

Are your services available for the deaf and hearing-impaired? Yes. We have a reserved section in the church auditorium for those who are deaf or hearing-impaired.

Is the church handicap accessible? Yes. There is plenty of reserved parking around each building on campus, including the church. The auditorium has seating available specifically for wheelchairs, handicap accessible restrooms, and elevators.

Is there a nursing mother’s room?
Yes. It is located in the northeast corner of the church.

What are the hours of the church bookstore? The bookstore is open 45 minutes before and after each service and from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Meet the Pastor

Pastor and Lynette HaginPastor Kenneth W. Hagin, senior pastor of RHEMA Bible Church since its inception in October 1985, has been in ministry nearly 50 years. On Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings, he often shares his personal motto, “I cannot be defeated, and I will not quit” and tries to impart that attitude into his congregation. Pastor Hagin wants members of his church to be successful in every area of life—spiritually, physically, emotionally, and financially.

His messages, frequently laced with Texas colloquialisms, range from practical teaching to inspirational preaching. He often ministers with a strong healing anointing, and his ministry helps lead believers into a deeper relationship with their Heavenly Father.

Kenneth W. Hagin's array of responsibilities also includes International Director of RHEMA Ministerial Association International. With his wife, Lynette, he co-hosts Rhema for Today, a weekday radio program broadcast throughout the United States, and RHEMA Praise, a weekly television broadcast. They also conduct Crusade meetings, spreading the message of faith and healing around the world.

We Believe . . .

• The Bible is the inspired Word of God.

• Our God is One, but manifested in three Persons—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

• Man is a created being, made in the likeness and image of God, but through Adam’s transgression and fall, sin came into the world.

• Salvation is the gift of God to man through faith in Jesus Christ.

• The New Birth is necessary to all men, and when experienced, produces eternal life.

• Baptism in water is by immersion, is a direct commandment of our Lord, and is for believers only.

• The Baptism in the Holy Ghost is a gift and is accompanied by the initial evidence of speaking in other tongues.

• We believe in sanctification, which is living a life of holiness.

• Healing is the privilege of every member of the Church today provided through Jesus’ death on the Cross.

• Jesus will return and “. . . The dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air . . .” (1 Thess. 4:16–17).”

• The one who physically dies in his sins without accepting Christ is eternally lost and, therefore, has no further opportunity of hearing the Gospel or repenting.

Expanded Beliefs

THE SCRIPTURES—The Bible is the inspired Word of God, the product of holy men of old who spoke and wrote as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. The New Covenant, as recorded in the New Testament, we accept as our infallible guide in matters pertaining to conduct and doctrine (2 Tim. 3:16; 1 Thess. 2:13; 2 Peter 1:21).

THE GODHEAD—Our God is One, but manifested in three Persons—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, being coequal (Deut. 6:4; Phil. 2:6). God the Father is greater than all; the Sender of the Word (Logos) and the Begetter (John 14:28; John 16:28; John 1:14). The Son is the Word flesh-covered, the One Begotten, and has existed with the Father from the beginning (John 1:1; John 1:18; John 1:14). The Holy Spirit proceeds forth from both the Father and the Son and is eternal (John 14:16; John 15:26).

MAN, HIS FALL AND REDEMPTION—Man is a created being, made in the likeness and image of God, but through Adam’s transgression and fall, sin came into the world. The Bible says “...all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God,” and “...There is none righteous, no, not one” (Rom. 3:10; 3:23). Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was manifested to undo the works of the devil and gave His life and shed His blood to redeem and restore man back to God (Rom. 5:14; 1 John 3:8).
Salvation is the gift of God to man, separate from works and the Law, and is made operative by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, producing works acceptable to God (Eph. 2:8–10).

ETERNAL LIFE AND THE NEW BIRTH—Man’s first step toward salvation is godly sorrow that worketh repentance. The New Birth is necessary to all men, and when experienced, produces eternal life (2 Cor. 7:10; John 3:3–5; 1 John 5:12).

WATER BAPTISM—Baptism in water is by immersion, is a direct commandment of our Lord, and is for believers only. The ordinance is a symbol of the Christian’s identification with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection (Matt. 28:19; Rom. 6:4; Col. 2:12; Acts 8:36–39).Water Baptism—Baptism in water is by immersion, is a direct commandment of our Lord, and is for believers only. The ordinance is a symbol of the Christian’s identification with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection (Matt. 28:19;
Rom. 6:4; Col. 2:12; Acts 8:36–39). The following recommendation regarding the water baptismal formula is adopted; to wit: “On the confession of your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and by His authority, I baptize you in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen.”

BAPTISM IN THE HOLY GHOST—The Baptism in the Holy Ghost and fire is a gift from God as promised by the Lord Jesus Christ to all believers in this dispensation and is received subsequent to the new birth. This experience is accompanied by the initial evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Holy Spirit Himself gives utterance (Matt. 3:11; John 14:16,17; Acts 1:8; Acts 2:38,39; Acts 19:1–7; Acts 2:1–4).

SANCTIFICATION—The Bible teaches that without holiness no man can see the Lord. We believe in the Doctrine of Sanctification as a definite, yet progressive work of grace, commencing at the time of regeneration and continuing until the consummation of salvation at Christ’s return (Heb. 12:14; 1 Thess. 5:23; 2 Peter 3:18; 2 Cor. 3:18; Phil. 3:12–14; 1 Cor. 1:30).

DIVINE HEALING—Healing is for the physical ills of the human body and is wrought by the power of God through the prayer of faith, and by the laying on of hands. It is provided for in the atonement of Christ, and is the privilege of every member of the Church today (James 5:14,15; Mark 16:18; Isa. 53:4,5; Matt. 8:17; 1 Peter 2:24).

RESURRECTION OF THE JUST AND THE RETURN OF OUR LORD—The angels said to Jesus’ disciples, “...This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.” His coming is imminent. When He comes, “...The dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air...” (Acts 1:11; 1 Thess. 4:16,17).

Following the Tribulation, He shall return to earth as King of kings, and Lord of lords, and together with His saints, who shall be kings and priests, He shall reign a thousand years (Rev. 5:10; 20:6).

HELL AND ETERNAL RETRIBUTION—The one who physically dies in his sins without accepting Christ is hopelessly and eternally lost in the lake of fire and, therefore, has no further opportunity of hearing the Gospel or repenting. The lake of fire is literal. The terms “eternal” and “everlasting,” used in describing the duration of the punishment of the damned in the lake of fire, carry the same thought and meaning of endless existence as used in denoting the duration of joy and ecstasy of saints in the Presence of God (Heb. 9:27; Rev. 19:20).

Our History

October 20, 1985—RHEMA Bible Church Begins Full Schedule of Services

Pastors Ken and Lynette Hagin and 1,200 worshipers gathered for the first Sunday morning service, enjoying a 90-voice robed choir and brand-new hymnals. Over 800 attended the first School of the Bible classes, which began the same day.

From 1989–1992
While RHEMA Bible Church was being built, services were held in the Ninowski Recreation Center.

February 9, 1992
RHEMA Bible Church met for the first time in the current RHEMA Church Auditorium.

Ken and Lynette Hagin reflect on the beginnings:

"While building RHEMA Bible Church, God was faithful to meet all of our needs. When God made it clear to us that He wanted us to build the RHEMA Church Auditorium, He told us it would be the biggest project we’d ever tackled, and it would be the easiest to pay off. It is and it was! God has been, is, and always will be faithful!

"Another constant has been the faithfulness and commitment of our congregation to RHEMA Bible Church through the years. For example, before we built the RCA, we used to hold Sunday services in the Ninowski Recreation Center. We knew we could always count on our faithful members to be there Saturday night to help with everything that needed to be done to have the NRC ready for Sunday—from laying mats to protect the gym floor to setting up folding chairs. And we knew that after the Sunday night service, those same faithful members would be ready to fold and store those chairs and mats. We don’t have to do all that work any more, but you’re still faithful to support the many outreaches and ministries of this church."
